The idea

Founded in Lisbon in 2022, The Folks is a specialty coffee and brunch brand built on one clear goal: to serve exceptional coffee and amazing food, every day.
We combine quality specialty coffee with honest, flavourful dishes — creating a space where people feel at home. What started as one café has grown into a network shaped by simplicity, taste and community.
Our mark — three hand-drawn beans, each with its own face — says it plainly: every person is a unique individual, and every coffee bean holds its own distinct flavour.
Four years, six rooms, one roaster.
We open our very first café in Chiado — one counter, one machine, a lot of hope.
Four more cafés open across Lisbon. Alfama, Santos, Blue Street and Sé join the family.
We introduce our own coffee roaster — and start roasting every bag ourselves, weekly.
80+ employees and a reputation as an employer people recommend to their friends.
Belém opens by the river, and we make The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops for the second year running.
